Full Job Description

A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics for a Digital Marketing Executive to support the marketing and communications team. The postholder's primary responsibility is to build engagement levels and sustain and grow advocates across web, social, and e-comms channels amongst our member clubs, athletes, and other important stakeholders across the sport.

The postholder will assist with online and offline marketing activity, proactively create content for our digital channels, including social media, and support business as usual marketing communications and campaigns across all priority areas (participation, clubs, coaches & officials, competition, and talent). This role will also support marketing and communications efforts at key England Athletics events, including creating fun and engaging content to showcase the excitement of athletics and running.

This postholder's key focus will be day-to-day management of all promotional e-communications and associated e-CRM to support audience segmentation and targeting.

We are looking for someone with experience in digital marketing content creation and e-communications, ideally within the sports industry. With a flair for creativity, the postholder should have previous experience developing, executing, and overseeing content which helped successfully achieve strategic objectives.

The individual should also have direct experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), e-comms systems (e.g., Dot. Digital) and social planning tools (e.g., Hootsuite). Previous experience in applying insight to marketing planning and delivery and a strong understanding of SEO would be preferable.

We are seeking a team player who is excited to contribute to a small but ambitious team with big goals. The individual should also have excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills as well as experience working in a complex multi-stakeholder environment. We're looking for someone with a flexible approach to work and a strong ability to take initiative.

England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. We work in partnership with the wider athletics family, especially our member clubs and bodies, UK Athletics, Sport England & commercial partners, to grow opportunities for everyone to experience our sport and to enable them to reach their full potential. England Athletics also provides national-level competition and is responsible for athlete development beneath world-class performance levels.

England Athletics is a membership organisation with c1,800 member clubs/bodies and c173000 registered athletes, which exists to provide services and support to its members and to promote and deliver athletics and running activities across all ages, event disciplines, ability levels and aspirations; and to give support to the wider sport where there are more than 6m who run each month in England, 3,500 licensed road races and 200,563 active RunTogether participants operating in more than 3,256 groups.

We want to inspire more athletes and runners of all abilities and backgrounds to fulfil their potential and to have a lifelong love of the sport. It is our vision for athletics to become an inclusive sport where everyone belongs and can flourish. We want every participant involved in our sport, whether they are an athlete, runner, coach, official, leader, volunteer, facility operator, parent, or guardian to see and experience first-hand the guiding principles that continue to drive our work - including putting the athlete and runner first, encouraging high standards and ethical success across all aspects of our work, enhancing experiences, and working together in partnership not in isolation.
