Full Job Description

We're recruiting for a Digital Standards Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Finance, Assurance, Compliance & Transformation team. The Finance, Assurance, Compliance & Transformation Team supports wider Justice Digital in managing its financial processes and tracking spend. We are responsible for centralised responses to commissions (requests for information) both internal and external to the MoJ, as well as working closely with the Justice Digital Senior Leadership Team to maximize opportunities to deliver on our strategic objectives. We also work with the Cabinet Office and the Central Digital & Data Office to ensure that all spending is compliant with cross-government standards and controls and that we adhere to MoJ and cross-government standards. The Digital Compliance Team supports Justice Digital and the wider Ministry of Justice in providing a consistent approach to Digital & Technology delivery. The team is comprised of four functions,

  • Business Continuity - the Business Continuity Team is in place to help delivery teams to build, test, and obtain sign off for their business continuity plans.
  • Audit - the Audit Team, provides a service to Justice Digital, providing a consistent response to external audit requests as well as ensuring Justice Digital is running as efficiently as possible.
  • Digital Assurance - the Digital Assurance Team provides an interface between CDDO & Justice Digital and manages all Digital & Technology Spend Approval for the whole of the Ministry of Justice.
  • Standards - the Standards Team provide a one stop shop for Justice Digital on Government functional, digital and technology standards, ensuring that all digital and technology standards are applied consistently.
  • As a Digital Standards Manager, you will be part of a newly formed, dynamic team focused on supporting the development and implementation of enhanced standards processes within the MoJ. Your role will ensure these standards are robust and fit for purpose in assuring the quality of our Digital & Technology services. You'll collaborate closely with various digital product teams and user-centred professions to successfully embed Digital & Technology standards.   • Supporting the Digital Standards Lead in identifying key areas of relevant research/evaluation.
  • Support the development and implementation of enhanced standards processes within MoJ to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Providing assessment expertise to on-going research and evaluation projects concerned with the evaluation of standards and assessment quality.
  • Engaging with technical colleagues from within the Ministry of Justice and external organizations, through formal channels and ad-hoc channels.
  • Assist in managing and organising documentation related to standards processes and assessments.
  • Help maintain a central repository of standards information, ensuring it is kept up to date and accessible.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to Government standards.
  • Appraising, coordination and delivery of methodologies for the evaluation of standards and assessment quality using evidence.
  • Judging practice of Justice Digital Delivery Teams in line with best practice and research, collating evidence regarding standards and applying assessment to design/delivery.
  • Providing expert input to, and collaborating with, members of the relevant technical groups and committees.
  • Providing assessment expertise input across the organization, as required.
  • Writing papers documenting the findings of evaluations.
  • Managing and developing the performance of Digital &/or Technology Delivery in line with Standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement within your own areas of responsibility.
  • Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
