Full Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Director of Sustainability with the gravitas to provide expertise and oversee all sustainability activities across the Group. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert advice, direction, and assurance to our Board and Executive Team on our comprehensive Sustainability initiatives. You will ensure that the Group is forward thinking in its strategic direction and creating a future which benefits our customers as well as achieving compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulation. This is an ideal opportunity for you to make a real difference by supporting our goals of becoming a modern, sustainable, and innovative housing association that takes the lead in helping our customers, people and partners navigate towards a more sustainable future.
- Significant experience of advancing sustainability within an organisation at a senior level
- Sustainability/ESG degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- A good understanding of large, complex programmes of retrofit works to residential properties (or similar)
- Experienced in managing and leading successful and contented teams, guiding people to reach their full potential
- Proven experience of developing sustainability/ESG strategies, for differing audiences and stakeholders
- Experience of concise and high-quality reporting of sustainability performance including development of targets, KPIs, and dashboards
- While social housing experience is not essential, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of challenges faced by social landlords in delivering their sustainability initiatives
