Full Job Description

As Director of Product, you will integrate Smartsheet into the fabric of business systems - enabling customers to automate their processes and integrate with a wide range of third-party business systems. The teams you manage will build products that unify disparate systems, and are vital for our customers, helping them bring in their data from anywhere, connecting their ecosystems together, and enabling workflow automations.

Customer data is most valuable when it's easy to import, export and synchronise, within Smartsheet and beyond. You'll be at the heart of building out flexible, user-friendly experiences that work for everyone. In this role, you'll develop a clear strategy for our integrations, lead how Smartsheet operates with critical platforms - e.g. Salesforce and ServiceNow, among others - and empower users to automate and integrate systems quickly and easily. We're not necessarily expecting you to have direct experience with these platforms, but we are looking for someone who is curious to jump in and develop an in-depth understanding of the products. You'll also be reimagining our automations experience, allowing users to build quickly and with increasing complexity, using natural language. You'll work alongside Engineering, UX, Marketing, and Sales teams, building out and communicating your roadmaps, and connecting regularly with customers.

The Director of Product is a people leadership role, leading the teams that own our integrations and automations products. You may choose to work from our Edinburgh or London offices, or you may choose to work remotely from anywhere in the UK. Our HQ is in Bellevue, Washington (USA).

You Will:

  • Understand customer needs to build products with great market fit.

  • Cultivate and drive a world-class product culture across your teams.

  • Create and communicate a compelling vision for your product portfolio.

  • Lead a team of product managers, across multiple areas, providing guidance and feedback.

  • Work with your Product Managers to define the roadmap, break down the work into a well-prioritised plan, and ship regularly.

  • Manage ongoing trade-offs in market fit, usability, cost, and performance.

  • Foster a data-driven culture, from setting KPIs, through to progress metrics during build, and then insightful analysis of results post-launch.

  • Provide connective tissue between our global teams, championing your product areas and aligning with overall company strategy.

  • Build and manage vendor relationships with outsourced extensibility partnerships.

  • Coordinate with other Product leads on cross-team complex projects.

  • Work closely with design and engineering to create compelling high-quality customer experiences, at every stage of the product life cycle.

  • Analyse market and trends to inform new recommendations.

  • Mentor and support leaders of the future, within product and beyond.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

8+ years of product management experience, managing software products from inception through launch and iteration. (SaaS experience is preferred, integrations or automation experience a plus.)

  • 3+ years experience building, mentoring and leading a world-class team of product managers to deliver business outcomes.

  • Experience working with UX and engineering teams; deep commitment to customers and team collaboration.

  • Excellent storytelling skills, and extraordinary ability to communicate with customers, colleagues, and executives.

  • Great data skills (SQL experience is a plus)

  • Comfort with experimentation, and a growth mindset.

  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts.

  • Experience with agile development processes and frequent product release cycles.

  • Legally eligible to work in the UK on an ongoing basis.
