Dispute Resolution & Risk Solicitor (2 - 4 Years PQE)
Location: Aberdeen
Employment Type: Permanent

 

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Solicitor with 2-4 years of PQE to join our dynamic Health and Safety team within the Dispute Resolution & Risk practice. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of health and safety matters for corporate clients and insurers. You will assist clients facing investigations by the HSE, Police, and other regulators, conduct internal investigations, and represent clients during enforcement actions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members on complex health and safety regulatory cases.
  • Attend interviews with the HSE and Police, and assist in incident investigations.
  • Provide comprehensive advice to clients on meeting their legal obligations under Health & Safety law.
  • Engage in advocacy in the Sheriff Court and support senior solicitors during complex hearings.
  • Prepare clients for court proceedings and Fatal Accident Inquiries.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Utilise the firm's case management system effectively.
  • Uphold information security policies to protect sensitive information.

 

Person Specification:

  • Relevant experience in Health & Safety law.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team on larger cases.
  • Capable of managing your own caseload under supervision.
  • Understanding of the firm’s key clients, the industry landscape, and the challenges they face.
  • Strong drafting skills and logical thinking.
  • Excellent client communication skills, with tailored advice that meets client needs.
  • Flexible approach to tasks, managing multiple priorities effectively.

  • Self-motivated and driven with a proactive attitude.
  • Organised, prepared, and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong commercial awareness and focus on client outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong emphasis on professionalism.
  • Business development aptitude, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
