Full Job Description

Document Controller – Temporary – Glasgow – Defence Sector

Location: Glasgow (3 days/week in office)
Start Date: February 2025
End Date: 12 months (with potential to extend)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/week
Rate: £20ph+ 
Clearance: Security checks may be required and if so, will be discussed at interview.  

Role Overview: on behalf of a consultancy we are working with, we are seeking a Document Controller to support the project management team in managing document workflows for a major defence programme. This role will involve overseeing document control processes from creation through to archiving, working with internal teams, external stakeholders, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage document workflows using REBIM/GliderBIM and SharePoint.
  • Implement and review the Programme Document Control Process.
  • Provide guidance to team members and new personnel on document control procedures.
  • Ensure document numbering, status, and revision control are maintained.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for document workflow activities with supply chain partners and customers.
  • Collaborate with project teams to maintain a deliverable plan for document delivery.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven document control experience with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in a client organisation (desirable).
