Family Worker, temporary maternity cover in Dundee for 37 hours a week

Salary in the region of £14.50 per hour

We are looking for someone to provide maternity cover as our Family Worker in Dundee. The role is for 37 hours a week, spread over 5 days (Sunday to Thursday – with Friday and Saturday rest days).

We are looking for an individual who has a strong understanding of the needs of families who have children with a disability or additional support needs, either through professional or personal experience. You should be able to provide information and emotional and practical support to families with children with a wide range of support needs. You will have strong skills in building relationships with people and be able to empower parents and carers to understand and access the support available from external services. You should also be able to create a sense of community that will enable peer support for families that require this support.

You’ll work as part of a small Family Support team who are based in Dundee, Edinburgh, and Fife. The work is a mixture of home working, operating out of an office in Dundee and attending some of our Family Sessions from our temporary premises based at Dundee East Community Sport Club.
