Hourly Rate: £15.72 - £16.98

Salary: £28689.33 - £30988.83 pro rata per annum

Contract Duration: Temporary until 25/06/2025 or earlier return of post holder.

Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.

Recruitment Profile

You will contribute to all aspects of childcare and education in the Nursery class and take an active part in other appropriate duties as required.
 To contribute through team meetings to the long, medium and short term planning process of all aspects of the curriculum in line with local and national guidelines to meet the needs of the individual child in a socially inclusive setting.
 To contribute, as part of the nursery team, to the implementation of plans to deliver an effective early years service to individual children and groups of children by:
• Setting up and preparing materials for planned nursery activities
• Carrying out planned nursery activities with various groups of children
• Clearing up after planned nursery activities to ensure materials and equipment are well cared for and stored properly
• General ongoing supervision to provide a safe, healthy and secure environment for children
• Encouraging children in the development of good personal hygiene providing assistance to individuals as necessary
 To observe, record observations and through team meetings contribute to evaluations and to the formal reporting on individual children’s progress within the transition record, in line with SBC’s policy and procedures.

Essential

At least one of the following qualifications:
 HNC in Childhood Practice/Childcare & Education
 SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF 7 / SVQ 3 Children’s Care, Learning & Development
 Applicants with an SNNEB/NNEB may be considered where they can evidence a record of on-going CPD during the past 5 years

 All successful applicants for early learning and childcare posts will be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of appointment and maintain registration throughout the period of employment.
