The nursery at Calderwood Nursery currently offers placements to pupils from Monday – Thursday (7:47am – 6:14pm) and Friday (8.00 -11:54pm) over 50 weeks of the year.

The post holder will be a member of the nursery team with the setting supporting early learning and the Early Years Officer. The post holder will develop and promote high quality learning experiences for all children within the establishment, will ensure the effective use of positive behaviour strategies for all children in partnership with staff, parents and other appropriate professionals.

The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year’s educational establishment.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
