Full Job Description

This role is looking for an electrical technician who has experience of working in an environment where automation is embedded within everyday operations, ideally with knowledge of robotics. The ideal candidate would be familiar with troubleshooting sensor feedback signals, as well as servicing and maintaining plant as part of a scheduled plan or reacting to breakdown situations.

This role, as well as working on automated systems, will also include scheduled and reactive work on other parts of plant and equipment. Essentially no two days will be the same. You'll be working in an exciting environment that's currently undergoing a huge transformation and receiving significant investment from the business to support this.

  • Attend asset care/shutdown review meetings

  • Ensuring the accurate and regular update of Maintenance Systems (SAP)

  • At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures. Responsible for Safe Systems of work.

  • Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment - living and driving 5s standards.

  • Accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard.

  • Coach operators to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.

  • Support capital work, including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required. Responsible for feeding into early equipment management.

  • Raise 5 why's as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and business leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift. Fixing problems and finding solutions via RCPS


  • This role is based around a 3 x 8-hour shift rotation (Mon-Fri), however it will require some weekend work that would be classed as over time.

  • Awareness and understanding of automation and conveyor systems.

  • Being able to fault find and problem solve using your own initiative.

  • Experience of working with 3 phase electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

  • Able to interrogate and fault find PLC systems.

  • Knowledge of machinery safety. (light curtains and key entry systems)

  • Awareness and understanding of pneumatics.

  • Valid CompEX 01-06 qualification

  • 18th Edition qualification
