Full Job Description

Contract: Permanent 

Work pattern: 39 hours per week

Monday – Thursday, 10.00am – 18.30 & Friday, 10.00am – 17.30

Location: Wheatley Homes East, Bilston, Midlothian, EH20 9LZ

Our Repairs team, based at our Bilston workshop, delivers repairs, maintenance and investment services for customers in Wheatley Homes East properties, as well as for people living in Wheatley’s other subsidiaries in the east of Scotland.  

About the role 

The role has a focus on delivering electrical repairs and servicing in our customers’ homes, as well as preparing any empty properties for new tenants, while providing an excellent service for our customers.


You will establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to contribute to the Group’s core objectives. 

Who are we looking for? 

The ideal candidate will help us achieve targets for response times, re-letting times, getting repairs right first time and customer satisfaction.


You’ll be qualified to City & Guilds level, or equivalent, and hold a qualification relating to the current edition of BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations). The ability to multi-skill in other trades when required is a key part of this role.


You’ll be fully trained and have ongoing support from colleagues across Wheatley Homes East and Wheatley Group. Experience of working in social housing is desirable but not essential.


A current full clean driving license is essential, and the post is subject to a basic disclosure check.
