Full Job Description

As a SRE Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our dynamic Engineering platform, playing a vital role in maintaining flawless performance and contributing to the success of our innovative projects.

Responsibilities of role :

Engage in collaboration with various teams to understand service requirements and accomplish their seamless execution.

Proactively monitor and maintain the stability and performance of systems and applications by diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring smooth operations with minimal disruptions.

Create and manage comprehensive documentation, ensuring precision, currency and thoroughness.

Technical Roadmaps and strategic direction of the Lloyds Mainframe Software Configuration Management and Deployment tooling, leadership and training.

Implementation of new complex technical solutions (including DevOps), within an enterprise environment by collaborating closely with individuals involved to gather requirements enabling the design of efficient systems.

Role modelling behaviours across teams.

Providing out of hours support, and flexible, independent working.

Working with Vendors to develop practical solutions, including influencing vendor roadmaps.

Automating and simplifying processes.

Mainframe Software Configuration Management, specifically Endevor.

Mainframe (IBM), zOS, MVS, TSO, REXX, JCL, ISPF

Diverse technical experience.

Independent and flexible worker, who can work with teams to implement complex solutions.

DevOps' advocate who has demonstrated the ability to implement new tools and processes.

Experience implementing Mainframe solutions.

And any experience of these would be really useful

Knowledge of COBOL, Assembler, CICS, DB2, DB2 SQL, Unix System Services (zOS).

Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow.

Git, GitHub, VSCode.

Extensive understanding of effective engineering practices and methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure.

Good communication skills, leading to the effective collaboration with diverse teams.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
