Engineering Assistant Team Leader

On behalf of our client, a global manufacturing organisation, we are seeking a suitably experienced candidate to fill the position of Engineering Assistant Team Leader. This role will be based within the Irvine plant, directly reporting to the Engineering Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and monitor the progress of job changes occurring in the cold end, addressing any mechanical issues swiftly to minimise downtime.
• Prioritise tasks and delegate responsibilities to members of the cold end engineering team to ensure essential tasks are completed.
• Assess the planned maintenance work needed during job changes to reduce the likelihood of engineering problems.
• Maintain open communication with plant management and other departments to enhance production efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend procedural enhancements to foster continuous development.
• Provide support and guidance to help the business meet its KPIs.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Qualified, time-served engineer.
• Experience in a process environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• A solid understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
• Effective people management skills.
