Full Job Description

The Credit Platform are building a team of multi-skilled engineers, delivering technology services and data transformations in support of all aspects of Credit Risk Management from Automated Decisioning, Portfolio Management through to Analytics and Reporting.

The platform is moving to fully populated, agile development teams. Each of these multi-skilled teams will have clear objectives and accountabilities and understand their role in delivering the transformation of Credit Risk.

What you'll do

  • Lead a group of engineers to design, develop and integrate software features to achieve their goals. Aligning team goals with the needs of the broader lab, platform, and group.

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Customer Journey Managers to deliver features on the product roadmaps, run down technical debt, maintain the health of production instances and to build the space to develop the skills needed by the target technology architecture.

  • Engineer solutions to be reliable, scalable, performant, and secure through solution design, utilising endorsed technologies and applying common build patterns.

  • Seek to better understand the work through planning, commit to clear achievable goals, drive appropriate prioritisation, and foster collective responsibility of ceremonies.

  • Take hands on ownership for unblocking technical challenges and forward look to prove out solutions ready for full use within the team, lab, or platform.

  • Collaborate with Agility Leads to advance the effectiveness of the team by installing change that increases the cadence of delivery, reduces cost ownership, and persists high quality of change.

  • Install active application custodianship to manage incidents, compliance findings, risks and running costs where it's the right answer for the team to maintain production instances.

  • Manage a team of engineers to provide ongoing application support, including monitoring, security scanning, vulnerability, and incident management.

  • Work to build a strong team by coaching, developing and mentoring engineers on how to achieve their team, technical and personal goals. Attracting new talent into the team and by managing retentions risks.

    Strong application or data development background

  • Experience in leading solutions involving data integration methodologies, relational databases with ETL principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of modern software development practices - ideally this would include Cloud hosting (GCP/OCP), Containers, Kubernetes, API's, DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery and Google Cloud Tools.

  • Experience of working as part of an agile team using agile practices and tooling such as Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Jira Align & Confluence.

  • Be a strong, experienced leader and positive role model, creating an environment where people are motivated to be their best, every day.

  • We would welcome someone that can demonstrate in-progress learning journey towards cloud technology accreditations (Google Cloud Associate Engineer, Professional Data Engineer, or Cloud Architect) whilst evidencing hands-on experience in On-Premises Application technology build and deployment.
