An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the council’s Enterprise Team. We are recruiting for an energetic and passionate individual to deliver across a range of business support services and initiatives to enable business growth and investment in North Lanarkshire.

As the 4th largest authority in Scotland, we are used to delivering a highly responsive service to meet the needs of the business community and to deliver against priority outcomes within the Plan for North Lanarkshire. We have hugely ambitious plans to regenerate our area to create employment; help start new businesses; support our existing businesses; and attract businesses, investment, visitors and events to North Lanarkshire. We know that successful delivery requires an integrated approach to business engagement and support across the business community, other Council services, partners, stakeholders, funders and investors.

Working as part of a wider team, we are seeking to recruit an Enterprise Development Officer to join us in our journey to make North Lanarkshire the place to invest and do business. The post will focus on engagement with businesses, key sectors and partners to lead the development and delivery of ambitious funding programmes, projects and initiatives which support businesses, inward investment and key sectors.

You should have substantial experience in either engaging with businesses or providing advice/support to businesses. You must have strong project development and project management skills preferably gained in an economic development or businesses related environment, with the ability to work in multi-agency partnerships and to interpret external business information/trends to inform future service delivery. Your experience should include managing budgets and developing solutions to meet business needs. Ideally, you should have experience of procurement/contract management.

Educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant discipline with strong organisational skills and excellent communication skills, you should demonstrate high personal drive and motivation to deliver a range of key activities to meet the council’s priority outcomes.

You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team who currently operate a hybrid working model of home-working and office-based working at the Civic Centre offices in Motherwell.
