Full Job Description
As Environmental Manager you will be required to -
- Lead and manage the advisory team across the Energy Scotland projects to deliver effective environmental support to all of our people.
- Work in collaboration with the pre-contract director and bid managers to contribute to business unit pre-contract and work-winning activities.
- Review compliance with management systems and environmental management plans and legislation via internal audits and by supporting external audits.
- Lead on significant investigations where required, reporting on, and implementing lessons learned and improvements.
- Provide subject matter expertise in identify environmental risk and mitigation, promoting best practice solutions.
- Support the development of the environment strategy and management action plans for improvement within the business unit in line with corporate requirements.
- Work well within a high performing team and be able to communicate at all levels of the business.
- Work well under pressure and manage both internal and client deadlines.
- Develop and support the team of advisors, monitoring, and reviewing performance. Supporting continuous improvement to environmental performance
We are looking for an Environmental Manager who has a wealth of knowledge in managing environmental risk throughout lifecycle of projects to provide technical support to project teams. Experience or knowledge of energy (Inc. gas) transmission, renewable/green energy infrastructure, flood defence, water and waste water works, ports and general complex civils including tunnelling from £10M upwards to major project values would be an advantage., - Be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject matter
- Be a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) / MIEMA or working towards chartered status
- Have experience of provide technical support and advice to project teams, undertake environmental monitoring, audit, deliver training and mentoring.
- Have a thorough knowledge of compliance with environmental legislation and of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems and its implementation
