The Opportunity
Do you enjoy working in a project environment? Keen for a hybrid working role?
Keen to develop knowledge in an HR context? And use your project and administrative skills?
About the role
The Agenda for Change Pay Award 2023/24 was accompanied by a number of areas for reform, including a Reduction in the Working Week, Protected Learning Time and a review of Band 5 Nursing roles. In order to deliver these projects we require Project Support Officers to develop and administer appropriate processes and data capture, support the relevant project team(s) and to work with colleagues from across the organisation to ensure the relevant and complete information is received in a timely manner.
Initially the role will focus on supporting the Band 5 Nursing Review. Full training will be given in Job Evaluation processes, and nursing roles within the NHS to enable you to support the evaluation of applications received. In addition, you will support the set-up of data capture processes and ensure information is provided as required, and input to the Job Evaluation system when received.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a significant change project within the NHS, develop new skills and an understanding of the Nursing Workforce.
Further information is available by contacting Philip Walker, philip.walker@nhs.scot or Kevin Colclough, kevin.colclough1@nhs.scot
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
