Have you got a construction or maintenance background and looking for a new career?

At NHS Highland we have a full-time vacancy within our estates department for to cover NHS Highland communities.

The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is able to react and think quickly to breakdowns within the NHS Highland estate.  They should also be capable of managing small scale projects and efficiently arrange for external contractors or in house technician teams to carry out maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment in a safe manner.  The post is primarily based at Raigmore Hospital at the moment but, there will be a requirement to travel to other sites all over the NHS Highland area.  The post will require effective management and prioritisation to contribute to the provision of excellent patient care.

What we are looking for :

Experience of managing a team and contractors

A current UK driving licence is essential

Applicants must have qualifications as details in the job description for this post

Experience of working in a healthcare setting would be advantageous

A great team player who is self-motivated

A flexible approach is essential as variations to the standard working week may be necessary.  A willingness to participate in a 1:6 on-call rota

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
