Estimator – Structural Steel Industry

A well-established company in the structural steel industry is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team. This is a full-time, office-based role with occasional site visits, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects, including primary steel packages, secondary steelwork, and architectural metalwork.
• Work on a range of projects, from small jobs to large tender submissions.
• Interpret both paper drawings and CAD models to assess project requirements and costs.
• Liaise with client estimators, surveyors, suppliers, and internal team members to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Utilize Excel and Word proficiently for estimating and reporting tasks.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in an Estimator role within the structural steel industry.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and installation.
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours & Benefits:

• Full-time role (39-hour week) with flexible start and finish times.
• Monday to Friday schedule.
• Competitive salary: £46,000 - £50,000 per year.
• Company pension.
