We are currently seeking a Facilities Catering and Retail Team Lead, based at Belford Hospital.

Successful post holder to manage Catering Services in North hospitals and support the staff welfare and public communities. This post has responsibility for the management of the catering and retail facilities function within the North area. This role supports the Support Manager and North West management team to ensure catering legislation, retail policies and procedures are managed and met, the management and development of the catering offer for both retail and patients, management of a 7 day operational service, to manage core and role training, develop retail marketing and merchandising standards, management and control of income and expenditure, responsible for ensuring high standards of customer service. Management of cleanliness is maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, Food, Fluid and Nutritional Care Standards and Waste Regulations.

Catering, hospitality and retail experience and management of working in an operational kitchen is essential.

The successful applicant will be required to cover, if required, all NHS Sites in the local geographical area, a fleet vehicle is available for travelling to sites, and it is essential to have a driving licence.  Access to economical public transport is also acceptable.

This is a 37 hour per week post to cover a 7 day rota, hours worked will be between 0700-1800 and includes weekend working, however other shift patterns would be needed at times to cover staff absence and annual leave, should it be required.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
