Full Job Description

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships.  As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.

About the Role 

We have a great opportunity to join the Customer Services department as we continue to improve service delivery to our stakeholders.  The role will involve supporting the Facilities department to provide both hard and soft services within the facilities team.

The key responsibilities of the role are set out in the job description and include:

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance, inspections and response to emergency calls within SPT properties ensuring that work is administered and recorded.
  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, alterations, modifications and small installations of plumbing systems.
  • To react to emergency requests for water ingress and leaking pipework.
  • Carry out work on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure within SPT properties to ensure fixed assets are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Supporting minor project works such as upgrading of SPT facilities, office moves and rerouting of plumbing pipework.

 About You

The successful candidate will have general plumbing experience and working in a maintenance environment along with excellent communication, interpersonal, numeracy and literacy skills.  You will have the ability to work both on your own initiative and equally be able to collaborate with others within the team.  You will have good organisational and planning skills and be skilled with workplace paperwork and systems.  You will be flexible and motivated to meet the growing operation of the department and wider organisation.

Full time hours will be 35 hours per week on a Monday to Friday basis and you will be based at Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow.
