Full Job Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

This is an exciting opportunity to join North Highland CAMHS in a senior position, which will provide leadership to the delivery of family and systemic psychotherapy, which is a much valued part of our CAMH service.

NHSH CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary Tier 3/4 team based mainly within The Phoenix Centre in Inverness, with some clinicians based in other localities within the Highlands. We cover the whole of the North Highland region, including Lochaber, Skye and Lochalsh, Caithness, Sutherland, Ross-shire, Inverness-shire, Badenoch and Strathspey. North Highland is a beautiful place to live and work and offers a fantastic quality of life, with access to both urban and outdoor activities and situated in the most beautiful part of Scotland (in our opinion!).

We are seeking an experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapist who has the passion and drive to support the development and delivery of services to the families of North Highland. Our team offer services to our core CAMHS patients and also to those who are care experienced, have a learning disability, who require the support of our paediatric clinical health psychology team, and who require Home Intensive Treatment, including those with eating disorders. Family and systemic psychotherapists offer a contribution across all of these service delivery areas and as such we are seeking someone who can promote practice, build capacity and work flexibly to meet the needs of a range of patients.

Part-time hours will be considered and a relocation package may be available.

If you think this challenge is one you would like to take on and are interested in joining our team, please contact us for an informal conversation: Dr Lindsay Chalton, Interim Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Lindsay.chalton@nhs.scot or Moranne MacGillivray, moranne.macgillivray@nhs.scot.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
