Farm Veterinary Technician - Caledonia Farm Vets

Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

• Assist in routine visits
• Assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures
• Carry out solo calf health and herd/flock vaccination visits
• Preparing animals and instruments for surgery
• Assure that monitoring and support equipment are in good working condition
• Clean, maintain and sterilise instruments, equipment, and materials
• Carry out faecal egg counts/collection and external laboratory related duties (processing and packaging)
• Actively be involved in product sales
• Be expected to attend industry shows and livestock sales when required
• Reception duties
  
  Ability to work with large animals
• A good understanding of the beef, sheep and dairy industries
• Knowledge of veterinary medical lab procedures
• In-depth understanding of veterinary health and safety procedures
• An understanding of advanced breeding procedures
• An understanding of farm animal medicines (POM-VPS)
• Excellent ability to communicate with farm clients
• Excellent attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• An aptitude for sales and customer service

• Salary will be between £24,000 - £27,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience
