Do you want a job where you can make a real difference?

Are you tired of being behind a computer screen?

Do you think it's pointless to climb an invisible corporate ladder?

If you are a practically-minded, energetic person, who wants to work in a dynamic environment, being a Personal Support Assistant is the job for you.

I am an individual employer, offering 1 part-time opportunity for Female Personal Support Assistant[s]. Flexibility regarding hours of work is a strong requirement, including evenings, weekends and one wakened overnight per week.

I am a wheelchair user and require support for all physical aspects of my daily life.

Your job will be to provide the right assistance, as and when required, in order to enable independent living.

You must be able to respect privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work.

You must retain a professional and flexible attitude to work and will at all times respect all persons in your working environment [regardless of whether you’re in a church, or LGBTQIA+ event].

Broadly speaking, the job will involve personal care [such as, hoisting, changing, physiotherapy, etc]; housework [ironing, cleaning, preparing food, etc] and general assistance [support when travelling, shopping, etc].

You must also be able to undertake tasks, unsupervised at times, and as instructed, to a high standard.

Your job will be based in/around Glasgow, with occasional travel required if I am travelling. Travel costs outside Glasgow/base address will be reimbursed.

You must be a non-smoker and remain a non-smoker while in this role.

No prior experience is required, only a willingness to learn, be committed and have good work ethic - diverse life/work experiences are more important than academic results.

The work requires stamina and physical capability. Knowledge and experience of physiotherapy and an interest in sport may prove useful in this job – you need to have a certain degree of physical fitness and strength.

Essential Requirements:

Physical fitness/strength

Honest

Disciplined in all aspects of work and attendance

Ability to retain confidentiality and respect privacy

Flexible approach to the job and working hours

Excellent listening skills

Excellent personal hygiene

Serious understanding of their role and ability to pay attention

If you'd like to apply, attach your CV and cover letter tailored to the role [written by you, not AI!], so I can assess your applications. Interviews will be offered to the right persons and reference checks will follow.

If you are offered a position, you'll be asked to apply for security checks [PVG or equivalent].

Please note Covid face masks are no longer a daily requirement, though may be necessary in certain environments/situation. Excellent hygiene however is strictly necessary.
