JOB TITLE: Finance Administration Assistant
REPORTING LINE: Financial Controller
LOCATIONS: Argyle House, Ibrox Stadium
CONTRACT: Fixed Term (6 months)
THE ROLE
An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team at Rangers Football Club as Finance Administration Assistant for a period of 6 months.
The Finance Administration Assistant will provide timeous, accurate and reliable processing of all financial transactions across Purchase Ledger, with supporting duties in Cashbook, Sales Ledger and General Ledgers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Purchase Ledger
- Coordinate and process all supplier invoices received for inclusion on finance software system and subsequent distribution for approval by managers.
- Maintenance of Payables and Purchase Order mailboxes, ensuring that all messages received are actioned in a timely manner.
- Control and record the flow of invoices between departments when out for approval.
- Reconcile supplier statements to Purchase Ledger.
- Be the first point of contact from a finance perspective for all suppliers throughout the business.
- Performance of month end procedures in relation to the Purchase Ledger.
- Clear communication with colleagues and external suppliers on where their invoices are in the approval process at any time.
Cash & Bank
- Recording and reconciliation of all bank transactions (across all company bank accounts).
- Investigation of unrecorded transactions and management of sub ledgers, receipts and payments.
- Performance of month end procedures in relation to the cashbook.
- Prepare BACS run payments on a weekly basis.
- Prepare ad-hoc supplier payments as requested by management or departments.
Sales Ledger
- Creation of sales invoices and follow-up of any credit-control related actions.
- Reconciliation of transactions through Talent, processing of associated transactions and preparation of daily journal.
- Receipt of payments on to the Sales Ledger, ensuring segregation of duties from cash & bank responsibility.
- Production and distribution of Sales Ledger Statements.
- Be the first point of contact from a finance perspective for all customers throughout the business.
- Preparation, recording of information, control in relation to Match Day and canteen floats/checklists.
- Management of Employee Expenses Ledger, including distribution and recording of staff cash floats.
- Performance of month-end procedures in relation to the Sales Ledger.
Other/Ad-hoc
- Internal and external mail distribution.
- Support the Finance team as and when required.
THE CANDIDATE
- Ambitious individual wishing to start a career in Finance.
- Strong IT & MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively both internally and externally
- Strong team player with ability to work on own initiative as required.
- Tidy and Organised with a strong sense of accountability – it is essential to follow through on all tasks while meeting scheduled deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and problem-solve.
