Full Job Description

iMultiply are working with an innovative property firm based in Glasgow City Centre, considered to be disruptors in their field, to find a full time, permanent Finance Assistant. 


Role overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong accountancy background, exposure to working within the commercial property industry and prior experience operating both property management systems and accounting software.

 

As a Finance Assistant, you will be involved in, but not limited too: 

  • Preparing rent registers and rent reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing and posting various month end journals including deferred revenue, prepayments and accruals
  • Assisting with the month end and year end close process and performing reconciliations
  • Preparing analysis as required for audit and tax purposes
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Sales invoice and credit note generation
  • Liaising with Surveyors/Clients and resolving finance issues
  • Supplier payments
  • Credit control
  • Experience of service charge budgets and accounts
  • Co-ordinate the resolution of day-to-day queries from clients & tenants
  • Support the transition of properties and clients into and out of the portfolio
  • Perform any other accounting duties as needed in support of the property portfolio
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Creation of ad hoc reports to surveyors, solicitors as required
  • Attend regular meetings surveyors as needed to resolve issues and ensure client needs are met.

 

Desired skills and experience for this role:

  • Good bookkeeping skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Prior exposure to property management systems and accounting software – Xero and Released
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to work under pressure, multi-task and effectively prioritise
  • Organised, with attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Able to use own initiative to resolve day to day issues
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook required

This is a permanent full-time role based in Glasgow city centre, an easily accessible location with multiple transportation routes. The role offers a salary of up to £30,000 and flexible working. This role will also offer ample growth opportunities as the business grows.
