Finance Manager

Reed Finance are seeking a Qualified Management Accountant to efficiently and effectively support one of our clients based in Edinburgh City Centre. This role involves working closely with the Finance Director and requires a highly organised, proactive professional with strong SME experience, preferably in the professional services sector.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare and review high-quality monthly management accounts and provide comprehensive commentary to reflect business performance, adhering to required deadlines
• Handle the preparation, review, and sign-off of year-end accounts, including liaison with auditors
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, including KPI analysis at various levels (firm, group, partner team, and individual)
• Manage net profitability reporting and prepare monthly cash flow and profit and loss forecasts
• Develop annual budgets and budgeted cash flows within agreed timelines, monitoring and reporting on deviations
• Ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of statutory and regulatory requirements including VAT returns, government statistical returns, and PAYE settlement agreement returns
• Review and sign off monthly payroll and authorise online bank payments, ensuring compliance with firm standards/protocols
• Complete tax analysis work, prepare tax computations, and review the firm's tax return submissions
• Manage annual insurance policy renewals and provide company secretarial services for all group companies
• Provide guidance and training within the finance team on financial processes and manage the firm's financial dashboard

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant (ICAS/ICAEW/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) with strong SME experience
• Professional services sector experience is preferred
• Highly organised and able to work autonomously, prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach
