Meraki Talent are exclusively engaged on the permanent position of Finance Manager based close to Musselburgh paying up to £50,000 + bonus & benefits.

As the Head of Finance gravitates upwards to focus on the Speciality Division as a consolidated group, the Finance Manager will be provided with an excellent platform to evolve their responsibilities to take gradually increase their exposure & role.


The Role


The position of Finance Manager is a redeveloped role to support the Head of Finance by assisting with the ownership of both BAU & operational finance.


·      Deputising for the Head of Finance

·      Business Partnering with non-financial stakeholders

·      Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls

·      Involvement in ERP implementation project

·      Production and presentation of monthly management accounts

·      Feeding into statutory accounts & consolidation process

·      Annual audit preparation including liaising with External Auditors

·      Variance analysis with ability to understand & challenge discrepancies

·      Periodic & adhoc financial analysis – WIP, stock, materials, costs

·      Assisting with budgeting

·      Weekly cashflow analysis

·      Intercompany transactions & recharge management

·      Assisting with VAT returns

·      Ensuring a robust month-end close: accruals, journals, prepayments, bank reconciliations

·      Debtor ledger analysis & reporting

·      Overseeing payment runs & invoicing


Candidate Profile


Alongside the technical requirements, it’s essential an individual is willing to embrace change as the business embarks on process and continuous improvements projects to modern finance through to improve efficiency & drive automation.


Accuracy of numbers is important, but it’s imperative the new Finance Manager has a desire to get underneath the skin of the business enabling them act as a true business partner, and aid the SLT with strategy, direction and decision making through story telling. 


The successful candidate doesn’t need to tick every box of the duties & responsibilities, as the Head of Finance is confident in their ability to train and develop to bridge any gaps but they must have the fundamentals of:


·      Part qualified, finalist or qualified Accountant – qualified by experience will also be considered

·      Strong month-end and management accounting experience

·      Ideally operated in an industrial sector – manufacturing, engineering, FMCG etc.

·      Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

·      Proficient user of Excel


On Offer


The position of Finance Manager is based close to Musselburgh with parking onsite, but also easily accessible via public transport. The role will also offer:


·      £40,000 - £50,000 base salary

·      Management bonus scheme

·      30 days holiday including bank holidays

·      4% employer pension contribution

·      Death in Service

·      Half day on a Friday

·      Christmas shutdown
