Anderson Knight Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-renowned public sector organisation to recruit a Finance Manager. This excellent opportunity offers a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible hybrid working arrangement, requiring only two days per week in the office.


As Finance Manager, you will lead a dedicated finance team to ensure accurate financial management and reporting. You will play a pivotal role in driving process improvements, maintaining compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, board reports, and financial statements.
  • Identify, implement, and monitor process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
  • Prepare annual budgets for board approval, monitor budget performance, and lead re-forecasting discussions with budget holders.
  • Maintain robust cashflow forecasting processes to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Oversee monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
  • Line manage and mentor finance staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Manage the preparation of year-end audit files and liaise with external auditors.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and budget holders to provide financial insights and drive informed decisions.

Skills & Experience Required:


  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Leadership role.
  • Strong track record in process improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Knowledge of public sector financial regulations and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
