Full Job Description

Iconic Resourcing are excited to be working in partnership with client, a nationwide service provider, to recruit a Finance Project Business Partner that will support the business on key projects, investment proposals, financial project performance, due diligence and analysis on significant infrastructure projects. 


Reporting to a Head of Finance, the role will also work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders at various levels through to Director and will be required to not only support key business cases, but constructively challenge these cases with full understanding of the costs to value - this is a fantastic opportunity to work with key leaders across the business and significantly add value to Capital Investment team.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage all project accounting, working with Projects Managers keeping close control on budget and forecasts
  • Produce project P&L reports, with project variances v budget/forecast
  • Improve project performance and profitability
  • CapEx forecasts and cash flow projections
  • Assist with business case preparation for key projects and capital spend
  • Review/challenge business cases to maximise 'return on investment'
  • Annual reporting on capital projects - statutory accounts, audit files and disclosures
  • Project process improvement 
  • Business performance analysis
  • Various ad hoc requests from Head of Finance

This is has an excellent balance in variety of tasks, exposure across the operational function, whilst a commercial focus together with continuing to use key accounting and reporting skills.


This is a long-term contract opportunity, with the potential to be made permanent.


You will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), with ideally a background of working with larger organisations. Reporting experience will be important i.e., IFRS, whilst being able to demonstrate strategic thinking and provide solutions. Additionally, a confident and clear communication style will be advantageous.
