Full Job Description

Our UK Financial Reporting Team are now looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team in Edinburgh, where you will maintain and report accurate accounting records of the companies for statutory and regulatory purposes, in addition to:

  • Working on the production of monthly financial accounts

  • Preparing end of year end statutory accounts (IFRS) and cash flow including liaising with external auditors.

  • Recording and working on the settlement of intercompany balances.

  • Maintaining and ensuring daily updating of accounting records e.g. bank recs and liquidity checks.

  • Preparing quarterly and annual FCA returns, including review of companies' financial resources.

  • Preparing billing for clients on a periodic basis via the Revport system

  • Processing of purchase invoices as via the ARIBA system.

  • Ensuring purchase invoices from the wider AAM business are processed promptly and are adequately reviewed for Bribery Act purposes.

  • Ensuring that daily client money checks are carried out to ensure that any client money within AAM's company bank accounts are identified and treated appropriately.

  • Liaising within Finance and with Client Management to ensure control of debtors.

  • Liaising with the wider business to ensure income is processed in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Assistance with the completion of revenue and assets reforecasts and budget, including expense budgeting processes through analysis of corporate costs.

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of regulatory issues impacting on the company and the accounts.

  • Document processes, reviewing them for continued suitability and make recommendations for improvement.

    A strong working knowledge of accountancy preferably within an occupational context, ideally you are a part qualified accountant with a recognised professional body or are in the process of beginning your professional qualification (ICAS, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

  • Previous work experience in a similar role, ideally within an Asset Management or Financial Services setting.


  • Please note you will be expected to complete your training in a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA) if you haven't already done so. Support will be provided.
