Full Job Description

The Finance Department is a key area within the group, and its aim is to provide:

 

·        effective financial transaction processing

·        assurance of necessary compliance with statutory and regulatory financial requirements

·        relevant and timely financial management information and analysis and financial control

·        advice and guidance for effective business management

 

The role of the Financial Controller is to support the Finance Director in managing the provision of the above, by ensuring appropriate systems are in place to deal with transactional processing and assurance, and to provide information and guidance to relevant users, supporting overall goals of the organisation. 


This will include UK and overseas entities, therefore international travel will be required.

 

Day to day management of the UK Finance department, adopting best HR practices, raising profile of the department within organisation, and ensuring objectives, goals and expectations are communicated. 


Ensuring department staff are motivated, professional and engaged. 


Ensure staff are trained, competent and sufficient cover is available for short or long term absences.

 

Preparing timely and accurate financial statements and reports including management accounts and reports, department accounts, channel and margin analysis and other reports.

 

Champion “sustainable cash management” within the Group, ensuring best practice is adopted in the group.  


Manage cash position, update projections, approve payments, and manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Treasury functions. 

 

Regular consultation with managers and directors, assisting with interpretation of results, explaining variances (against budget, prior months or standard costs), leading to enhanced business performance. 


Provide guidance on costs, cost drivers, cash management and ensuring awareness of full cost of products/services provided. 

Meeting with other departments and branches to raise commercial awareness within the group - to support goals of profit and cash maximisation.
