Our Client, a rapidly expanding engineering organisation with a presence across America and Europe. With over 20 years experience in the UK, our client has recently been awarded a significant contract in Scotland as part of an infrastructure development project over the next 8 years. Through a period of growth, our client continues to evolve and diversify service across a variety of infrastructure services and projects. This appointment is a newly created role where an experienced Financial Controller will be responsible for a major construction project near Glasgow, establishing processes and procedures along the way. With continued growth, our client will utilise the services of the financial controller for a minimum period of 6 months.


Your new role
The Financial Controller will report to the Finance Director as part of the wider group. Responsible for a team of three, the financial controller will oversee site operations, coordinate with finance and non-financial stakeholders and establish end-end processes and procedures across a variety of projects. The Financial Controller will provide a detailed review of processes in place, embed necessary changes and will ensure the smooth running of the AP/AR and payroll function, in addition to preparing detailed Management Accounts and performance reviews for senior management.

This is a hands-on role where the financial controller will initially be focussing on establishing and embedding procedures from payment runs and supplier management to continuous improvement of General Ledger transactions and systems efficiencies. This role will be a challenging and rewarding position at the helm of the decision-making process, facilitating change and orchestrating best practice. The financial controller will be responsible for cash management and long term forecasting, budgeting, forecasting and producing detailed management accounts for the Finance Director and wider group.

This is a varied and challenging contract role which will encompass project accounting, finance business partnering and end-end oversight of site financial operations.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Qualified Accountant with 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally in a similar role. You will enjoy being involved in end-end accounting, working with the team to improve processes and procedures and look for continuous improvement solutions along the way. You will be on site 3 days per week and will have flexibility to work remotely 2 days per week. This role will start in early October.

As a trusted advisor to the FD, you will provide recommendations and improvements to the delivery of financial operations, offering a challenging and rewarding environment.

What you'll get in return
This opportunity is a minimum period of 6 months with the possibility of extension. This role offers 320 - 400 depending on experience.
