Full Job Description

Glasgow is a vibrant city where the FinTech sector is growing at an unprecedented rate. Many large financial firms have established their product development centres in Glasgow: JP Morgan, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Virgin Money, Tesco Bank and many more. With a highly skilled population and a growing tech start up scene, Strathclyde University has prioritised the FinTech Cluster as part of our plans to develop the next phase of the University’s Technology & Innovation Zone located within the Glasgow City Innovation District.

Through significant new investment from the UK Government’s Innovation Accelerator programme, the University of Strathclyde seek to appoint an enthusiastic and efficient individual to join the team in the role of Project Administrator. Based at the University of Strathclyde, this role will provide business support to the Financial Regulation Innovation Lab (the Lab) and the Fintech Cluster by working closely with the University’s Industry Engagement and Innovation Directorate, the Fintech Cluster Lead, the High Growth Adviser and Fintech Scotland’s Strategic Innovation Director to support the delivery of the Innovation Call series for the Lab and the resulting industry engagement activities. The project is supported by the UK government, large financial and professional service institutions, regulators, the University of Strathclyde, the University of Glasgow, and the University of Stirling.

Strathclyde was the first University in the UK to offer a MSc degree in FinTech to support the digital transformation of Scotland’s financial sector and has extensive capability with many leading researchers and active projects that are directly involved in, or relevant to, the FinTech market. Within the Strathclyde Innovation Ecosystem there are also other partner organisations which add strength to the broader capability. The immediate task for the newly appointed Project Administrator will be to support and coordinate the Innovation Call series linked to the delivery of the Lab and support key University engagements between Strathclyde and FinTech Scotland to deliver and scale up support to the FinTech ecosystem in Scotland linked to this programme.
