Job Title: Food Production Operative

The Role

General Operatives work within the production area of the factory and are responsible for working in three main areas: breading, packing, and palletising.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing breading and packing duties as directed.
• Transporting, placing and stacking goods on pallets safely.
• Working to Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards, and challenge colleagues who are not working to these standards.
• Perform General Operative duties when requested by supervisors and managers.
• Using correct manual handling techniques at all times.
• Wearing the correct PPE at all times.
• Adhering to the Personal Hygiene Policy at all times.
• Being diligent, punctual and behaving in a responsible manner.
• Assisting with day to day general operative tasks throughout the factory as and when required.
• Completing ad hoc duties for chargehands, supervisors and production managers as and when required.
• Keeping work areas (whole factory site) clean and tidy.

Hours of Work

• Normal contractual hours of work are 40 hours per week.
• If you are contracted to 40 hours per week the normal dayshift working day is from 06.00-14.00, 07.00-15.00 or 08.00-16.00, the normal backshift working day is from 15.00-23.00 or 16.00-00.00 Monday to Friday inclusive.
