Based at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, covering the Angus area.

This job is workstyle 4 - Flexi.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations, working from council buildings, working in service user's locations and site visits and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

As a Food Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our community by ensuring that food businesses comply with all safety regulations and standards. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, providing guidance on best practices, and taking enforcement actions where necessary to protect public health.,

  • Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, including restaurants, cafes, and food manufacturing facilities.

  • Monitor compliance with food safety regulations.

  • Investigate complaints and foodborne illness outbreaks.

  • Provide guidance to food business operators on hygiene and food safety practices.

  • Prepare detailed reports and take appropriate enforcement action when non-compliance is identified
