Full Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:


Operational – Food Service

To carry out daily food service duties adhering to the following:

  • To uphold residents rights to privacy, dignity and choice
  • To participate in the delivery of a high quality, professional service patients, staff & visitors
  • Clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers and small scale equipment manually and through machine washers
  • Clean floors, work surfaces, furnishings and related equipment manually and by use of machine
  • Prepare and present sandwiches for service to patients, staff & visitors
  • Assist Chef’s with basic food preparation and cooking
  • Clean and prepare ward food trolleys for meal service
  • Deliver food to wards
  • Comply with food hygiene regulations with regard to food service equipment cleaning and departmental cleanliness including dismantling and assembly of equipment for cleaning purposes
  • Comply with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, ensuring all relevant paper work is completed
  • Store goods correctly and use stock on a rotational basis
  • Participate with Department in Performance and Development Reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Operational – Maintenance

  • Ensure that a good decorative order of the building is maintained and report any deficiencies
  • Comply with the Health & Safety Regulations & Fire Policy, report hazards to management
  • Ensure maintenance of all equipment is checked prior to use and report any deficiencies

Financial and Security

  • Controls which are in place are adhered to
  • Assist when/where necessary to adhere to budget
  • Control the issue of keys

Professional Conduct

Ensure Professional knowledge, skills, initiative, innovation & personal image are sufficiently developed to fulfil the requirement of the position.


Personal

Ensure that clothing, including footwear & personal hygiene is of the highest standards at all times


General

  • Participate in company training to improve your standard of performance
  • Suggest areas of improvement & take any corrective action, as required
  • Carry out any other reasonable instructions of the management
