Full Job Description

Reporting to the Customs Manager, this role will lead a team of freight forwarding professionals, communicating Company goals, safety practices and deadlines. They will provide support to management including with recruitment and training, motivate the team and support their development.,

  • Working with Business Development and General Manager to set customer targets for development and growth of freight forwarding business

  • Develop freight forwarding team by answering team member questions and providing resolution

  • Oversee team member work as regards quality and guideline compliance and deliver the operational day to day management of the team

  • Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints.

  • Ensure company brand materials and physical working spaces meet and exceed company presentation standards.

  • Assist the Customs Manager with internal and external training.

  • Attend client meetings alongside the Customs Manager and maintain and manage Client KPIs.

  • Contribute to department cost management and profit and loss forecasting.

    Strong technical freight forwarding knowledge with at least 5 years of experience

  • Experience in a team lead/supervisory role

  • Well-developed influencing, motivational and leadership skills

  • Experience in training/coaching/developing others

  • Self-motivated and results focused.

  • Strong relationship building and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Customer service focus, presenting a positive Company image through quality customer engagement

  • Dangerous Goods Awareness, Educated to National 4/5 level or equivalent
