Full Job Description

The Fundraising and Communications Time to Shine Leader will work alongside and be supported by the Fundraising and Communications team. They will be involved in a wide range of fundraising and communications activities including: developing and executing campaigns, building relationships with current and potential donors, creating compelling content, helping to ensure clear and consistent internal messaging and monitoring campaign performance. The role combines creativity, strategy and relationship management to drive the organisation's mission forward.

As well as the team you will be supported by Melodie Crumlin, our Deputy CEO and there will be opportunities for learning and development throughout the year.

- Access to training and workshops on fundraising, grant writing, digital marketing and other relevant topics
- Opportunities to network with industry professionals, donors and community leaders.
- Hands on experience in both fundraising and communications developing a strong foundation for a career in the non-profit sector., Identify potential donors and assist in maintaining/ updating donor databases, ensuring accurate records of donations and communications.
Campaign Support
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns.
- Assist in creating fundraising materials ie-brochures, presentations, and promotional videos.
Grant Writing and Reporting
- Research potential grant opportunities that align with the organisation's goals and assist in drafting and submitting grant applications.
- Help with tracking grant deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of all necessary documents.
Event Planning
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, such as galas, auctions, and community fundraisers.
- Coordinate event logistics, including vendor management, volunteer coordination, and post-event follow-up
Communications and Content Creation
- Develop and curate content for the organisation's website, newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
- Write press releases, blog posts, and articles to highlight the organisation's work and achievements.
- Assist in creating multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and infographics.
Social Media Management
- Develop and implement social media campaigns to increase awareness and engagement.
- Monitor social media metrics and report on the effectiveness of campaigns.
Media Relations
- Assist in building relationships with local and national media outlets.
- Help coordinate media outreach, including pitching stories, arranging interviews, and preparing press kits.
- Track media coverage and report on the organisation's media presence.
Brand Management
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication platforms.
- Assist in updating and maintaining brand guidelines.

Currently unemployed or underemployed (you're working below your skill set and/or potential)
- Keen to work in the not for profit sector in a fundraising and communications role and looking for a way in
- Some experience or an understanding of fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems and email marketing tools
- Basic understanding of fundraising
- Well organised and confident working on a number of projects simultaneously either with other team members or independently
- Creative, positive, motivated and committed to achieving results with a 'can do' approach.
- Passionate about youth development and committed to MCR Pathways' mission and values.
