We have an opportunity for a person to join our UK Ocean Freight Operations TeamGlasgow SCS team as an Ocean Clerk. This position will be involved with the Import/Exports of ocean freight shipments. FCL and LCL freight movements. Ideally the candidate must have has previous Global Freight & Logistics experiencebackground and be able to work off their own initiative to resolve issues as well as being part of a team. You would be responsible for your own customers and provide ad-hoc support to others when required. Although not exhaustive, responsibilities include:

• Variety of different locations from Bristol, Glasgow and Coventry
• Dealing with internal and external customer queries in a professional and timely manner onover the phone, via email and/or TEAMS (any other platform for video conferencing).
• Liaising effectively between various UPS Departments.
• Preparing of export and import customer clearance documentation and liaising with Customs regarding documentation and resolution of outstanding issues.
• Liaise directly with customers, trucking partners, ocean freight carriers / ocean freight service providers and our overseas offices
• Arranging bookings for FCL and LCL shipments
• Handle and process customs clearance
• Profit and loss (on shipment level) responsibility
• Cost control
• Cost allocation
• Revenue allocation
• Invoice control
• Invoicing, internal and external billing
  
  Ocean Freight Import & Export experience (LCL, FCL and Cross Trade beneficial)
• Good communicator and able to work under pressure
• Microsoft Word & Excel skills are essential / good working knowledge of Microsoft office (outlook, word, excel, etc.)
• Understand Import /Export documentation
• Customer Service experience to build relationships with key customers
• Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF), Power of Attorney (POA) and Letter of Credit (LC).
• Ideally previous knowledge or exposure to Cargowise, Confidence and determination are key to a successful career, especially in securing new customers.
