Full Job Description

We are looking for a truly dynamic General Manager, ready to take on a high-level role and lead the operational leadership of the hotel. If you are driven by commercial success and exceptional customer experiences, and can lead with passion, a natural attention to detail and measurable impact, we want to hear from you. In this role, you will oversee the Front Office including the Night Team, Kitchen, Food & Beverage including Banqueting and Events, Housekeeping and Self-Catering departments, delivering seamless operations and outstanding guest experiences. You will also be key to supporting the Hotel Manager at our second hotel in Crieff, the Murraypark Hotel, to enhance their operations and commercial performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to support in leading the launch of Crieff Hydro's new Food and Beverage concept, set to open in Spring 2025. With a £4.5million transformation of our bars and restaurants, a key component of this role will be to inspire and motivate our teams to embrace and drive this exciting change. We are looking for someone who will combine their commerciality with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experience and with the ability to motivate, coach and engage their teams. You will understand what it means to lead from the front and by example, comfortable with being highly visible and hands on, ensuring adherence of our high standards. Evening and weekend work will be required; it is hospitality after all. You will ensure that we have a thriving, positive culture throughout Crieff Hydro. As well as your direct reports, you will be skilled at building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from internal managers to external suppliers. Crieff Hydro is a high-profile business and you will be relaxed in the spotlight, whether that is from customers old and new or the wider hospitality sector.,

  • Reporting directly to and working closely with our Area General Manager, Patrick Diack.
  • Successfully leading a dynamic, complex operation with numerous moving parts and diverse opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Working with relevant business partner teams to recruit, develop and motivate the right managers, team leaders and team members within the Crieff Hydro hotel operations to drive a fantastic customer and team member experience.
  • Delivering and developing the customer offer, in line with the Crieff Hydro brand standards and story, working within our family-wide supply-chain and operating standards/procedures.
  • With high occupancy being our norm, there will be a particular emphasis on driving secondary spend hand-in-hand with further improving customer experience to increase return guest numbers and other relevant customer and revenue metrics.
  • Taking full ownership of customer satisfaction metrics, continuously refining business strategies to maintain consistently high results.

    You will have several years' experience in a senior Operations role, General Management leadership or senior management role at relevant scale/complexity - ideally some of which would be in the independent and/or leisure/resort sector.
  • You will be self-aware and able to articulate why you are highly regarded by your team, peers and customers.
  • Previous responsibility to P&L level and hands-on involvement in all aspect of financial management from budgeting through the analysis, understanding, communication and acting upon results, risk and opportunities.
  • Experience of developing and coaching people and building teams within development and performance frameworks.
  • You will understand current issues affecting Scottish tourism and the Resort sector generally - including changing population demographics, customer and employee trends and a knowledge of the social and economic environment.
