About Us

We provide the full range of Acute, Mental Health, Community and Primary Care services to a diverse population of 1.2 million people in six local authority areas. Regional and national services are also provided across a range of clinical specialties.

We are looking to recruit to this critical but rewarding post leading our Specialist Children Services across NHSGGC.  Specialist Childrens Services provides Multidisciplinary community and inpatient services covering CAMHS and community Paediatrics.

About the Role

The General Manager- Specialist Childrens Services (SCS) is the lead for planning, performance, service improvement, clinical governance and professional advisory functions for all SCS services across NHSGGC and will operationally manage and deliver strategic priorities for SCS.

As the Senior Member of the NHSGGC SCS Senior Management Team the General Manager will fully contribute and participate in the corporate management and governance of SCS, by leading the delivery of services in SCS across NHSGGC taking on Executive Lead roles as required, across the Board, Nationally and Regionally and on behalf of the Chief Officer (East Dunbartonshire HSCP).

The General Manager will lead the Strategic Plan for SCS in relation to service delivery and developments both locally and Regionally and undertake a Board wide lead for CAMH improvement services as well as being responsible for the delivery of SCS elements of the Board Annual Delivery Plan.

Understanding the needs of Children young people and their families will be essential to deliver high quality services with improved outcomes.

You will be educated to a degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent relevant experience) along with a Management or Leadership qualification.

Ideally you will have a successful track record in either Paediatric or Mental Health services, managing complex budgets, specialist services and have proven experience in service redesign. This post has a strategic leadership responsibility and you should be able to demonstrate success in large scale organisations. You should be educated to Master levels in an appropriate discipline and have exceptional people skills to manage a large and complex team.
