Full Job Description

As a GIS Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial systems and infrastructure. Your expertise in GIS technologies and engineering principles will contribute to the successful development and optimization of our spatial data solutions.

System Design and Implementation:

  • Architect, design, and implement GIS systems and infrastructure.

  • Integrate geospatial technologies into existing systems to enhance functionality.


  • Geospatial Database Management:

  • Develop and manage spatial databases for efficient storage and retrieval of geographic data.

  • Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of GIS databases.


  • Custom GIS Tool Development:

  • Create custom tools and applications to automate GIS workflows.

  • Utilise programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) for GIS software development.


  • Spatial Analysis and Modelling:

  • Conduct complex spatial analysis and modelling to support decision-making processes.

  • Implement advanced geoprocessing techniques to derive meaningful insights.


  • GIS Infrastructure Optimization:

  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency of GIS infrastructure.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies to recommend and implement upgrades.


  • Collaboration and Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support for GIS-related issues.

  • Participate and deliver as part of a devops squad.

  • Assist in training and knowledge transfer to colleagues within the team.

    We are seeking a couple of skilled and motivated GIS Technical Engineers to join our Technology Transformation area within CTO., Proven experience as a GIS Engineer or in a similar technical role

  • Proficiency in GIS software such as IQ Geo, GComms, ESRI, Smallworld etc and experience with geospatial databases

  • Strong programming skills with knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, HTML5, JavaScript or similar)

  • Familiarity with cloud-based GIS solutions and services

  • Experience with GIS web development and API integration.

  • Knowledge of both Fixed and Mobile Telecommunications infrastructure

  • Knowledge of open-source GIS solutions and tools.

  • Certification in GIS-related technologies.
