We are currently seeking a highly experienced, strategic and detail oriented Golf Courses Manager to expertly lead and develop our Golf Maintenance team. We're a passionate and dedicated team, responsible for the daily presentation of our three iconic golf courses; we ensure the best possible playing surfaces and offer a consistent challenge and exceptional experience for our members and guests. We're early birds and night owls, preparing our golf courses for play daily to the most exacting standards, come rain or shine. Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:

  • Leading, motivating and providing strategic leadership to our sizeable and mighty Golf Maintenance team, instilling a drive and commitment to always achieve the highest possible standards

  • Planning, monitoring, evaluating, and managing all golf course activities and work programmes all golf course activities for our Greenkeeping team, ensuring high levels of presentation and attention to detail

  • You'll have full responsibility for the consistent delivery of brand standards across our golf courses to ensure the visual and preparatory tasks, including include tees, fairways, rough, approaches, greens, and holes, are completed daily

  • Planning all maintenance and project work applying your exceptional agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve impeccable maintenance standards

  • Proactively participating in the development of new product lines with preferred suppliers to increase productivity and advances in technology to ensure Gleneagles is always one step ahead of the industry

  • Developing monthly and annual maintenance programmes in conjunction with our Director of Agronomy & Estates, ensuring minimal impact to members and guests

  • Ensuring our vast fleet of vehicles and machinery are all maintained to the required standards complying with all manufacturers' recommendations and Health and Safety legislation

  • Flexing your financial and commercial acumen, you'll ensure that all costs, maintenance and work schedules are managed within budgetary guidelines, reducing wastage enabling savings to be made whilst increasing productivity

  • Maintaining fully up-to-date knowledge and awareness of current golf course chemical products available to the UK market, you'll ensure that we're always one step ahead of industry trends

  • Communicating effectively and encouraging effective communication within the team, including leading daily team briefings, and proactively participating in team meetings across the Golf family

  • Working closely with our Brand & Marketing team, you'll expand the Golf Maintenance Gleneagles brand through social media and the relevant marketing channels, supporting our coveted position as leaders within the industry

  • Responding to guest and team feedback and comments (59 Club, Medalia), supremely professional at all times

  • Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way

    You have a minimum of 5 years golf course managerial experience and a genuine passion for everything golf course related; naturally inquisitive and always innovative, you'll know exactly how to create and deliver the finest playing surfaces

  • A natural leader, you've previously managed a large team and you're passionate about developing people; you love to nurture, motivate and develop those around you

  • You like it when your work stands out from the crowd, you've got your finger on the pulse and know exactly what's happening in the industry

  • Constantly seeking opportunities to network in the industry through events and competitions, you'll be determined to build an outstanding reputation for your team and Gleneagles

  • You're invested in your own personal development ensuring you have the most up to date and relevant expert knowledge and skills in your field
