Audit is the largest of our UK practices. Put simply, audit is about examining organisations and ensuring their published accounts provide a 'true and fair' view of their financial position and results. The work we do makes a meaningful difference to businesses and communities. It is critical to the everyday working of society, helps build trust in the economy and supports companies as they grow. From the start, you'll be working on complex audit engagements, which could include big retailers, UK banks and multinational organisations - putting you at the heart of the world of business. We audit some of the world's biggest companies, who rely on us to provide independent insight, challenge and high-quality audit expertise. Through this work, we're also committed to helping to build sustainable organisations from an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) perspective. The role of technology in audit is increasingly important as the world's most influential organisations continue to embrace technology at an incredible pace. As businesses of all sizes and scales are seizing the opportunities brought about by AI, robotics, advanced analytics and Blockchain, our Technology Audit team plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating the potential risks and threats posed by advancing technology. Join us on this programme, working as one team alongside our Financial Audit colleagues, evaluating the IT systems that underpin an organisation's key financial processes, and ensuring continuous improvement of audit quality. We'll equip you with the skills you need to understand and assess control risks across IT processes including evaluating the code and configuration of systems, financial and operational applications, technology infrastructure and technology projects. As a technology specialist, you'll also be involved in understanding and assessing the client's cyber security landscape. You'll critically assess the processes and controls that an organisation has in place to secure the data that moves through their IT systems. You'll gain exposure to a variety of global and local businesses across one or more industry sectors, as well as to the breadth of technology used by these organisations. This is all supported by innovative data and analytics technology and tools that you'll learn how to use, and automated solutions such as our global smart audit platform, KPMG Clara. You don't need to be a technical guru - our current graduates have degrees in a variety of subjects. If you're curious, agile, pay attention to detail and have the appetite to learn about technology and the role of technology in audit, you'll thrive with us. On this programme you'll complete the Certificate in Accounting Finance and Business (CFAB) in your first few months, with the option to continue your studies and complete the full ICAEW Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. Alongside this, we'll support you to develop your technology, process, and data audit skills, all of which will empower you to build an exciting and varied long-term career with us. The work is challenging yet rewarding, and you'll have the support of your senior leaders, engagement teams, peers and broader Audit community at your side to help you be at your best. In addition, in Technology Audit (IRM), we currently offer the CFAB qualification. The CFAB qualification is part of the ACA Accelerated Programme, which is a front-loaded study path that uses innovative technology and is delivered via a blend of online and in-centre classroom courses. The ACA Accelerated programme enables you to upskill quickly so you can make your mark. You will complete just the initial level of the ICAEW ACA qualification, CFAB or the Certificate in Accounting Finance and Business, which will give you a good understanding of business, finance & accounting, and is highly valued in organisations around the world. The ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting & Business (ICAEW CFAB) teaches practical skills and essential knowledge in accounting, finance and business. In line with our hybrid model, you will be required to travel to our training partners offices, it is important that you read our guide on How to get the best out of our hybrid model. In the remaining two years of your training contract, you will concentrate on building up a fantastic range of work experience and will have the technical knowledge to apply to your role in the workplace. The entire programme is supported by a wide range of mechanisms that will be applied by your tuition provider (BPP) and KPMG's dedicated Early Careers Development team.
