Our infrastructure team was formed in 2015 and consists of 200 experts operating from nine offices across the UK. The team is experiencing an accelerated growth stage following the award of several major contracts within the north of England and Scotland and we are looking for ambitious new members to join us in the next stage of our exciting journey of growth. The northern infrastructure team acts for a wide range of clients within the Infrastructure, Utility and Energy sectors. We are delivering an expert service to clients such as National Grid Transmission, Cadent Gas, Scottish Power Energy Networks, Green Gen, Orstead, Network Rail and National Highways. Our Graduate Team Operating in both rural and urban environments, our Infrastructure graduates are directly involved in delivering project to create the world we need for the 21st Century and beyond. We cover an array of services to clients within the following sectors:

  • The role: This is an exciting opportunity for an effective individual to become part of our team that delivers real change to people's lives. You will take an active part in assisting with the negotiation for acquisition and temporary occupation of land for projects, assessing compensation for losses, inspecting and recording land before works start as well as assisting with identifying sites for renewable energy projects. Your work each day will vary, you could be supporting with gaining consent for access across third party land, negotiating lease events, acquiring land and buildings, negotiating compensation claims, asset acquisitions and disposals, valuations and contributing to strategic land acquisition reports. You will undertake site visits, meet clients and colleagues, and attend public consultation events. You will take an active role in the development and implementation of efficient, 'best practice' internal systems and processes, optimising IT and other resources. You will gain experience in some specialised and sought-after skills including land assembly negotiations and compulsory purchase which are in short supply in the market. Our in-house Academy training course will give you a head start with over 20 hours of CPD in Compulsory Purchase and Compensation. Clients are at the heart of what we do, so ensuring you develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients is essential, this includes attending client meetings and preparing communications and reports.   • What will it take to be successful? Candidates applying to Infrastructures will be from a variety of backgrounds, we are interested in receiving applications from students available to start in 2024 and who have a keen interest in the infrastructure of our country and the ways we can make a difference to the world we live in.

    You will be ideally from land management, environmental, infrastructure, planning & development, land administration, geography, real estate and various educational backgrounds, you will develop a broad understanding of the role in the entire property/real estate lifecycle from land registration/mapping to management to development to remediation and re use. Ideally you will have a RICS accredited degree, however we do welcome applications from candidates with non-accredited degrees and other relevant qualifications. Experience within a real estate or civil engineering organisation across the rural, commercial or energy sectors gained through work experience, or placements will be an advantage. It is essential that you have a full driving license as regular travel is required.
