This is an in-house (not remote) permanent, full time position. This is not an accounting role - Obviously we are an accounting firm, however, we want this role to be more of an operation manager / marketing role. Basic accounting and tax queries from clients will need to be responded to as part of the role, however, most will be simple and are asked multiple times. Therefore, training will be provided to assist with these generic queries. The rest of the role will fall into the following categories: 1. Assist with the Operational Management of the business There are many different parts to running this business. Currently the Partner is undertaking all of these tasks. The candidate would assist with all areas and work as a team alongside the Partner and potentially even take ownership of these tasks going forward. Work would include:

• Reviewing the production management to ensure our workflow is progressing in an efficient and profitable manner
• Managing quality control of production work
• Reviewing and managing the revenue streams and revenue controls
• Reviewing and managing the cost base of the business
• Reviewing the client on-boarding processes to ensure clients are receiving a great experience and all information needed is received
• Managing the client emails inbox and: Responding and actioning as much as possible - This will likely be 30-50% of your time Identifying emails that need to be responded to by the Partner
• Managing the time of the Partner to maximise the revenue generated from his time
• Assisting the production workflow to get accounting and tax work to the final stage and ready for the Partner to review and present to client
• Producing monthly management reports to discuss KPIs and identifying areas of improvement
• Assisting with the Income Tax production process during peak times of the year (mainly January)
• Various other activities
2. Marketing Assist with the creation and implementation of the marketing plan to drive the business forward. Ultimately, the purpose of the marketing plan is to create leads for new business which would then be converted via the sales process. Work would include:
• Assisting with the building of the annual marketing plan and monitoring and evaluating its success
• Assisting with building the personal brand of the Partner
• Creation of Articles / Videos for website / LinkedIn / Other
• Generating leads via referrals from our current clients
• Attaining reviews from current clients to improve the SEO and Google positioning of the company website
• Introducing our business to other local businesses to build the brand in the local area
• Creating events to invite local businesses to attend - expert drop in clinics, technical presentation, networking events etc
• Following up on recent sales meetings
• Contacting previous clients
• Building and managing a targeted dataset of potential clients
• Generating leads for the Partner via our lead generation partners
• Networking
• Various other activities
3. Sales You would not be expected to be undertaking sales meetings initially, however, this is something that we could potentially build the right candidate up to once they learn more about our business and showed potential to create leads and convert sales.


• University degree minimum 2:2 with a business focus - ideally Management / Marketing / Accounting focus
• Excellent communication skills: People skills - a confident and friendly personality to help build strong relationships both within the team and with clients Oral communication Written communication

The Glasgow Southside and Central Taxassist Accountants operation is managed by local Chartered Accountant and entrepreneur - Russell Chapman. In the last 6 years, Russell has tripled the size of the practice and radically changed the operational efficiencies of production. As a result, this business unit is producing very high profit margins. Following recent successes, the business is expanding by bringing in another Partner and opening 2 new offices around Glasgow. In order to maximise the success of the expansion plans we have decided to create a very exiting new role within the business for someone to work very closely with the Partner to assist in running the operational side of the business and drive it forward. The role will likely grow and evolve as with the growth of the business.
