Full Job Description

Reporting to the Claims Manager, and working under the supervision of the Reinsurance Technician, the Graduate Reinsurance Claims Technician will support the Reinsurance Technician with the following tasks :

  • Identifying, presenting and managing reinsurance recoveries and chasing balances across primarily asbestos-related disease claims, to include the following : -

  • Mesothelioma

  • Lung Cancer

  • Fatal Asbestosis / Diffuse Pleural Thickening

  • Managing all diaries, post and work items within the agreed SLAs

  • Liaising with external parties to secure supporting documentation where required

  • Presentation of claims to reinsurers

  • Collection of funds from reinsurers

  • Supporting in preparation for client meetings and reports

  • Developing effective business relationships internally and externally

  • Maintain accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes to include ensuring the accuracy of The Asbestos Database (and any other relevant secondary sources) e.


  • g., ensuring the data (cover periods, legacy entity & exposure periods) are correct and aligned, for the purposes of the outwards reinsurance position and process.

    Contribute to projects relevant to the sub vertical

  • A degree in Law, Data or a Mathematics related subject is preferable or a minimum of 1 years' experience in a Reinsurance or Claims role will also be considered

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent numeracy and data input skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • An investigative mind

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines

  • Experience using MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams

    Pro operates a hybrid working model and the majority of this role will be working from home with travel to your nearest ELPL hub once a week in Horsham, Liverpool or Glasgow and other locations on occasion.
