Full Job Description

This post is required to assist in the full range of maintenance duties for the University’s Gardens, Grounds and Playing Fields. Previous experience in this area is essential and you must have held full driving license for a minimum of 12 months. This post would ideally suit an individual with a horticultural background.


Key responsibilities of this role include:

·        To undertake all aspects of maintenance to grassed areas, flowerbeds and shrubberies, used for both amenity and sport purposes

·        To undertake the collection of waste and litter ensuring the roads, gulleys, pathways and car parks, etc are kept clean and that the campuses are kept free from billboard notices

·        To undertake the seasonal collection of leaves

·        To undertake snow clearing and gritting which would include being available to work out with normal working hours. This involves participating in an On Call rota from Nov-April.

·        To undertake the maintenance of grounds machinery, equipment, street furniture in general

·        To undertake the erection and removal of equipment used for sports and special events


Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £23,706 - £25,138 per annum, with placement according to qualifications and experience.
