Amplifi Talent are partnered with a rapidly growing SME based in Glasgow who are looking to hire a Senior Group Accountant for a 12 month FTC. This is a fast-paced and dynamic business where the finance team plays a key role in decision-making on a weekly basis, driving the strategic direction and success of the company.


Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Group Accountant to join our team for a 12 month FTC due to start in October. The Senior Group Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department and providing high-quality, timely, and accurate information to the Board to support strategic decision-making aimed at maximising revenue and profit growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for the finance function across the Group, working closely with the Finance team on internal controls, consolidation, financial process optimisation, consistency in management reporting, forecasting, balance sheet reconciliation, annual budgeting, new asset integration, and supplier payment management.
  • Ongoing development of the monthly board pack in conjunction with the CFO including the preparation of financial information, value-added commentary, and analysis to assist the Board in understanding and improving business performance. This includes financial modelling and KPI management.
  • Form a close working relationship with the CFO and Senior Executives.
  • Manage monthly MI returns to our investor and to our lenders.
  • Be responsible for the company's cash management policies and performance.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to manage annual audits, corporation tax, payroll, and all taxation matters in conjunction with external advisors.
  • Work with the Head of M&A and CFO on potential acquisitions by providing financial insight and ensuring timely completion of accounts.
  • Manage the team to ensure monthly payments are in line with guidance and work with the Payroll Bureau to ensure streamlined and timely monthly payroll processing.
  • Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with various departments, management, and stakeholders to understand their needs and address any finance-related concerns. Maintain effective communication channels to address feedback and implement improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate, and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Experienced qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally in a similarly sized or larger business.
  • Experience working in an acquisitive, multi-site business is preferable.
  • Commercial and strategic mindset, linking operational KPIs to financial/MI.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Leadership and people management experience.
  • First-class communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in budget management and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders and external service advisors/providers.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Salary:

£60,000-£75,000


The business anticipates an early October start date so would be well suited to a suitable candidate coming to the end of a contract around this period or returning to work at the start of Q4.
